Luck

I feel that this week my mind is rotating through multiple thoughts and ideas. I don't know if I have a grasp on which things are most important to recount, how what my thoughts are on the individual idea. That being said, this week allowed me to contemplate more than that of previous weeks.

Watching "A Hero's Journey" made me think about a lot of different things. Am I thinking about what matters most when making decisions or planning my goals and aspirations? The simple questions that he counsels us to ask ourselves change the perspective that we should be having. He also mentioned that we do not want to get into our 60's and think, I have wasted my life. That is a real fear that I think many of us have. Finding ways to pay bills and make money may be on the forefront of our minds so much that we get through the majority of our lives and think...why did I do it?

This week it was good to think about people that I can surround myself with, as well as look to, as I move forward in all aspects of my life. This was a great opportunity to not only look within myself and say, what is it that I think is important, but to find those that emulate that person that I want to be. I found myself thinking about people that I may not have thought of if I just looked at those who are successful financially. On the contrary, I found myself wanting to surround myself with those that are devoted followers of the Savior. That is what matters most.

Last Lecture

How time flies. I can't believe that we have come to the end of a semester and that we are finishing up this course. I don't feel that I have had a course before that has caused some much thought and prompted me to ponder in such a way as this class has. It has been great for me to be able to listen, read and learn about other entrepreneurs and the "why" factor that leads them to accomplish what they have. The Value of Money

The article "Attitude on Money" aligned a lot of the thoughts I already had about money into a more concise and uplifting message. I enjoyed a lot of the messages and notes that Brother Gibson talked about. Hopefully, I can articulate my feelings as prompted by the article in response to the questions that we are asked to answer. What is your attitude towards money? Often times I think that we view money in a negative way due to the implications that money can have if we use it in the wrong way. Money is necessary as we learned, but it doesn't have to be a necessary evil as it often referred to. I enjoyed the story of Jon Huntsman and the attitude that he had towards money. He viewed money as a way to help others that were in need. I enjoy the philosophy of Dave Ramsey who often says, "Live like no one else now, so that you can live and give  like no one else later." Ministry of Business

The Ministry of Business was an amazing book to read over the past few weeks and ponder. I often found myself pondering during the week the things I had just read. It provided a great time to reevaluate myself and have introspection. This process of contemplation lead to more understanding and direction than reading the book probably did. It became a springboard for Divine Communication. It was amazing to me the concepts that I read and the experiences over the past year that reiterated the lessons being taught. With the experiences that I have had, the book provided a second or third witness of the truthfulness of a concept. This week we also looked at fears that we have, and ways to overcome or gain perspective on those fears. I was reluctant to look internally and try to be honest about fears that I have, or could have when it comes to starting a business.
